Coastal lifeguard training
1. Pool tests (2 hours)
1.1 ILS basin test
Four tests in a pool and one on land.
Completed in one session and must be completed within 60 minutes.
ILS = International Life Saving Federation .
1.2 Copenhagen Municipality Coastal Lifeguard Service supplementary tests
Two tests with ABC (mask, fins and snorkel).
The pool tests are held in Emdrup Bad.

2. First aid module (17 hours)
First aid - 4 main points, CPR for adults, Pocket mask, CPR for children, General first aid, illnesses and injuries (coast-related), AED theory, AED training, Stable side position, Drowning, Oxygen backpack
3. Boat module (19 hours)
Safety signals and procedures, Seafaring rules (basic), Boat- trailer- safety equipment, ATV- oil- water- gasoline- check, Boat (sailing), Spine-board, Maintenance
The boat course is held near Helgoland Sea Bathing Center
4. Opened water module and samples (30 hours)
Coastal morphology and oceanography, Observation service, sounding, land search, water search, ABCT service, KAST rescue method, board training, boat service, rescue board
4.1 ILS Form test open water
Swimming, freediving, running, rescue, cat with lifebuoy, rescue board exercises
4.2 Copenhagen Municipality Coastal Lifeguard Service supplementary tests
Rescue drills, board and boat drills, scenarios

5. Theory tests (2 hours)
